COMPARATIVE LAW PROGRAM IN EUROPE
The American University Washington College of Law (AUWCL) London-Brussels-Paris-Geneva Summer Law Program introduces law students and attorneys to evolving legal concepts and structures in Europe and in the international arena. The program considers the European Union, the World Trade Organization, the United Nations, and other international organizations to be its foremost hosts. The nature and dynamics of European legal institutions and the development of a body of international laws will be important program interests. The actual countries visited are the United Kingdom, Belgium, France, and Switzerland. This program is approved by the American Bar Association.
Students who have completed one year of full-time or part-time law study and who are in good standing at an ABA-approved or state accredited law school may enroll in this program. The program is also open to LL.M. candidates and practicing lawyers. Students from law schools outside the USA are allowed to apply for participation. In recent years serveral international students took part in the program. When applying, non-WCL students must provide a statement by their Dean or Registrar that they are in good standing and that they have permission to take these courses at WCL, so that the credits/grades earned in the program will be accepted by the student's home school. A limited number of $500 merit-based scholarships are available to be used toward tuition costs. To apply, click here.
