EUROPEAN LAW AND INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS LAW SUMMER PROGRAM
The American University Washington College of Law (AUWCL) European Law and International Business Law Summer Program in London, Paris, Brussels, and Luxembourg introduces law students and attorneys to evolving legal concepts and structures in Europe and in the international arena. The program consists of two three-credit classes with course instruction taught by American University professors and site visits to related institutions. The courses offered are International Business Law (London and Paris) and European Union Law and European Institutions (Brussels and Luxembourg). This program is approved by the American Bar Association. The 2017 Summer Program begins on Sunday evening May 28 and ends on June 24.
Tuition includes courses, site visits, lodging in centrally located hotels in each of city, breakfast, wi-fi, and several receptions. It's a great opportunity to see a cross-section of Western Europe while also learning from great professors.
Students who have completed one year of full-time or part-time law study and who are in good standing at an ABA-approved or state accredited law school may enroll in this program. The program is also open to LL.M. candidates and practicing lawyers. Students from law schools other than WCL are welcome and have regularly participated. In addition, students from outside the USA are allowed to apply for participation. When applying, non-WCL students must provide a statement by their Dean or Registrar stating that that they are in good standing and that they have permission to take these courses at WCL, so that the credits/grades earned in the program will be accepted by the student's home school. Non-credit participation is available at a reduced rate (see below).
